November
1, 2004 Alex Ring is guest speaker at Silvon’s
Profit 2004 User Group Conference
Next
Monday Alex Ring will be a guest speaker
at Silvon’s Profit 2004 User Group
Conference, running November 7th through
the 9th. Alex will participate in two of
the conference breakout sessions:
Session A103:
Addressing the Challenges of Demand Forecasting
in the Consumer Goods
Industry: Poor demand visibility is the
root cause of customer service failures
and inflated inventory which all contributes
to margin erosion. Improving demand visibility
means reducing forecast error, but the
challenge is formidable in the consumer
goods industry due to the demand volatility
driven by data accuracy, data granularity,
the presence of demand altering factors
and market noise. One very influential
factor that is rarely handled with importance
is the impact of promotions on demand forecasts.
Silvon and Synectics have developed a partnership
that combines the rich trade promotions
data contained in Account Review with Stratum’s
analytics and forecasting engine to provide
improvements in demand forecasting. The
session will cover examples and provide
ways to improve the demand forecasting
process.
Session E102:
Closed Loop Trade Promotions Management: The Synectics Group will be
discussing the components necessary to
have a best-in-class, closed-loop trade
promotion management system. In addition,
Synectics Group will address the process
of attaining a global closed-loop management
system as defined by the Gartner Group.
The Synectics Group is a leading provider
of closed-loop TPM software solutions and
has been solely focused in providing TPM
solutions to the CPG industry for over
19 years.
