February 11-13,  2007: Synectics Group and clients to participate in the TPMA conference, “The Financial Impact of Trade Promotion Management”

Synectics is proud to participate and support the Trade Promotion Management Associates (TPMA) conference, “The Financial Impact of Trade Promotion Management”.  Michael Kantor, president of the TPMA, believes that new metric tools for trade promotion management (TPM) will spark debate at this TPMA Conference.

The rationale and benefits of metric tools for trade promotion management will draw intense interest from the CPGs gathered at the annual Financial Impact of Trade Promotion Management Conference. The event, sponsored by Trade Promotion Management Associates, will convene February 11-13 at the Renaissance Vinoy Hotel, St. Petersburg, Fla. Also on the educational agenda will be case studies and strategies that align financial objectives of brands with retailers.

“We’re at a turning point in trade promotions,” says Michael Kantor, managing director, TPMA, the trade group that has issued an actionable set of metrics for managing trade promotions, which are the second-largest cost brands incur after the cost of goods.

“CPG and retailers will count more heavily than ever on trade promotions as traditional media prove to be less reliable to deliver results. Our conference delivers new technologies and best practices surrounding accountability, measurement, and a total cost of ownership approach to Trade Promotion Management. We help CPG get right and in line with the goals of their retail partners,” he adds.

Two solid days of sessions will provide key takeaways to help attendees:

  Optimize trade spend
  Comply with Sarbanes-Oxley
  Resolve deductions and post-audits
  Quantify technological benefits
Manage workflow and change to strategically align business with technology.

At TPMA, experts “teach the required operational flexibility and efficiency to rapidly resolve deductions, identify a targeted ROI (return on investment), and introduce new products with the ability to be more responsive to customers while cutting costs,” describes Kantor. “It’s a very practical and forward-looking approach.”
